Resulting Variational Sweep

The cross section you define must be a sketch on a path. You can define a sketch on a path using the Variational Sweep command or by using Insert→ Sketch and then changing the type to Sketch on Path. The selected path defines the origin of the sketch as it moves along the path.
Once you add curves and constraints to the sketch, you can define the section to be swept. The section can be the entire sketch or a part of the sketch geometry.
Variational Sweep lets you create multiple bodies in a single feature. Selection intent is fully maintained when it produces multiple bodies. A mixture of sheet and solid bodies can be produced by a single feature. Variational Sweep features also have the capability to unite and subtract disjoint swept bodies from the target body when the Unite or Subtract boolean operation is selected.
